I have pushed out of the tech world at 55, now sitting on the sidelines, mostly sharing my experience/ expertise on this platform for peanuts.

It's a mixed bag really. I don't miss the politics, the [younger] managers trying to prove they know more than you. The [far younger] inexperienced colleague who wants cherry pick the work that comes in. The interns who think they're the cats whiskers, knowing all the latest languages and tools, the new ones Google or Apple invented last week, but nobody is allowed to use in industry for the next three years or more... [as they will discover]. But I do miss some of my colleagues whom I used to have a good laugh now and again. I miss the challenges of solving real world problems. I miss the money, with the cost of everything just going in one direction, out of reach :) too expensive. Maybe I'll make a late comeback that or go bankrupt.
